Difference Between Anti-Wrinkle Injection, Restylane & Juvederm

Difference Between Anti-Wrinkle Injection, Restylane & Juvederm

As we age, our skin loses some crucial proteins and fats that are responsible for making us appear younger. While having a healthy diet and exercising are definitely important for maintaining our youthful vigor, today’s emphasis on fitness can often lead to accelerated fat loss in the face, with the earlier appearance of under eye and cheek hollows and deep folds around the mouth. Because of that, millions of people are turning to the benefit of cosmetic injectable fillers.
Injectable fillers (also known as dermal fillers) are substances that can improve a wide range of signs of aging caused by loss of facial volume. To name a few, these include smile lines, saggy cheeks, thinning lips, and facial hollows. Many patients have always had thin lips or flat cheeks and take advantage of facial fillers to give them more volume. While there are many brands of cosmetic injectables available today, three of the most widely used are Anti-Wrinkle Injection, Restylane, and Juvederm.

  • Anti-Wrinkle Injection: Anti-Wrinkle Injection(botulinum toxin A) is the most popular anti-aging injectable in use today. It prevents the contraction of muscles that cause wrinkles and creases by stopping “communication” between the nerves and muscles. As a result, the muscles are weakened and unable to form wrinkles. Anti-Wrinkle Injection is generally best for getting rid of wrinkles and creases that appear from facial expressions, such as crow’s feet and frown lines in the forehead and between the eyebrows.
  • Restylane: Along with providing volume around the lips, cheeks and under eyes, Restylane is also a great choice for individuals looking for more facial structure. Restylane rejuvenates the skin tissues by restoring elasticity to them and bringing more fullness to the facial features. It improves the contours of the face and is also important in hydrating the skin. The hyaluronic acid found in Restylane is a natural substance already present in our skin. Thus, Restylane is safe and well-suited for the body.
  • Juvederm: Hyaluronic acid is also the major component found in Juvederm. The uses of Juvederm are very similar to Restylane in many cases. However, the hyaluronic acid molecules in Juvederm are more cross-linked, making the product smoother and longer-lasting. Because of the more significant cross-linking, however, Juvederm is not suited to all areas of the face such as under the eye. Some forms of Juvederm fillers are also manufactured with anesthetics that automatically numb the treatment areas to prevent discomfort.

Unlike Anti-Wrinkle Injection, both Restylane and Juvederm are better suited to treating passive wrinkles and folds that are not caused by facial expression, such as the deep folds around the mouth.

There is no doubt that Anti-Wrinkle Injection, Juvederm and Restylane all produce great results and are very effective. Whatever your particular concern may be, it is highly recommended that you consult with the surgeons at Beverly Hills Profiles as they will be able to tell you which one of these products is the optimal choice for you.
