Items to Stock Up During Your Facial Plastic Surgery Recovery

Items to Stock Up During Your Facial Plastic Surgery Recovery

Posted by Dr. Litner and Dr. Solieman on January 20th, 2017

Congratulations, you have booked your facial plastic surgery appointment with Profiles Beverly Hills. What now? To facilitate healing and ease your recovery, Drs. Litman and Solieman recommend that you prepare your home environment ahead of your surgery. This includes stocking up on items that you may need during your post-op rest period. Here are some things you should have on hand:

  • Bottled or filtered water that can be kept conveniently by the bedside and other areas you may rest
  • Any medication that the surgeons prescribe, such as pain management medication
  • Ice packs or other recommended necessities, such as bandages and dressings
  • Plenty of fresh fruit and healthy snacks
  • Nutrient-rich pre-packaged foods or home-cooked meals prepared in advance
  • Comfortable, loose clothes that can be put on without touching the face

In addition to stocking up on provisions, you should create a comfortable place to rest. A bedside table or tray is always useful and can help you keep everything you need within reach. You may want to consider setting up a few stations throughout your home, next to the sofa or a reading chair, for example.

Make the Appropriate Arrangements for Time Off

You should make any necessary arrangements to take time off as early as possible. Because it is important to give the body adequate time to recover, patients are advised to schedule enough time off of work. If possible, Drs. Litman and Solieman recommend that you build in some buffer time when planning your recovery. If you allow for more downtime than you think you may need, you avoid any stress should you feel you unable to return to your normal activities in the expected timeframe. You should also arrange for any help you may need immediately following your facial plastic surgery and during the initial days of your recovery.

Profiles Beverly Hills will provide you with instructions and a complete list of things you will need for your recovery. If you have any questions about preparing for your particular procedure, please feel free to contact the office for more information.
