Non surgical, minimally invasive modalities for facial rejuvenation have become all the rage over the last few years. These have become immensely popular because they are safe and provide immediate and predictable results, without all the down time surgery can often entails.
You may, however, feel more than a little confused about the array of wrinkle treatments available. We are often asked, “Should I be getting anti-wrinkle injections, fillers, microdermabrasion, a chemical peel, laser, or radiofrequency?” “What about this new cream that just came out?” The options seem never ending.
At Profiles Beverly Hills, our surgeons are big believers in time-tested treatments that carry unquestionable records of satisfaction and success. Drs. Litner and Solieman will not offer nor recommend any therapy that don’t make sense to them, no matter how great the hype and hoopla.
The treatments offered at Profiles Beverly Hills are proven techniques which have consistently produced excellent results. Anti-wrinkle injections are wonderful for dynamic lines and wrinkles, ones that are formed or made worse by repeated muscle movement, such as frowning. Laser Resurfacing works really well for textural changes and red or brown coloration over large areas of skin, such as chronic sun damage and lines developed from years of smoking. Our Palomar Icon laser uses fractional laser technology to force the body to manufacture new collagen in the deep layers of skin, which in turn increases volume in treated areas and diminishes wrinkles. If you have deep creases or folds that have become more apparent with advancing age, such as those around the mouth (Nasolabial Folds), then injectable fillers are likely the best option for you. These fillers replace lost volume in order to restore a more youthful appearance to your skin by improving facial contours and smoothening lines and depressions. Fillers can also be used to augment volume in an area where it may have always been deficient, such as in the lip of cheek areas.

Treating Wrinkles & Fine Lines
Non-permanent fillers, such as Restylane™ and Juvéderm™, are composed of hyaluronic acid, a substance that, along with collagen, is one of the main natural building blocks of the skin. These fillers can provide you with immediate results that can last anywhere from 6 to 12 months depending on your body, and the volume and area injected. Maintenance of favorable results can be achieved with regular treatments.
Many patients would like to achieve even longer lasting improvements and this can be done with a facial fat transfer procedure. These procedures can achieve remarkable enhancements when used in the right location. While fillers cannot replicate the results attainable with a surgical procedure for more advanced aging changes, they are often a good choice if you prefer not to consider surgery.
Occasionally, some of our patients like to try these procedures first before they make the decision to undergo a surgical procedure. These procedures are not mutually exclusive. Patients may often undergo a filler procedure in concert with a surgical lift to enhance the overall result.
Best of all, these procedures can be delivered quickly, safely, economically, and effectively in the office with minimal discomfort, downtime, or unwanted side effects.
Injectable fillers are most often used in patients from their late twenties upward to improve the earliest signs of aging, especially in depressions around the mouth and under the eyes. They can also be used to supply volume to enhance thin lips, or occasionally to create a more chiselled jawline or a more prominent chin or cheekbones.
Drs. Litner and Solieman perform all of our injectable filler procedures in PROFILES Beverly Hills’ state of the art office. Our doctors commonly use topical and local anesthesia to optimize your comfort during the injection process. We are sensitive to making your experience at PROFILES Beverly Hills as comfortable and pain-free as possible.
Once the anesthesia is administered, the filler is carefully injected beneath the skin using a very fine needle. Drs. Solieman and Litner will take the time to analyze exactly where the filler is needed, and you will have the opportunity to observe and contribute to this process in order to achieve an optimal and natural enhancement. The process usually can be completed in under thirty minutes and we often can accommodate you over your lunch hour.
While some mild swelling or redness may occur at the injection site, there is little downtime associated with most filler procedures. Work and other normal activities can be resumed immediately after treatment.
Results after filler injection are immediate. Once the mild swelling resolves, the enhancements will usually remain stable over the life of the filler. When your unwanted creases or depressions are once again becoming visible, this is the time to consider a repeat visit in order to maintain your results.
