Not everyone will find that neck liposuction alone is sufficient. Depending on your anatomy, skin type and texture and degree of aging you may be a great candidate for this procedure.

Neck Liposuction achieves the most dramatic results in our patients who have relatively elastic skin, favorable bone structure and more isolated fat deposits in the neck. Even if you do not meet this description, neck liposuction at PROFILES still has the potential for very real and significant improvement.

Prior to your surgery at PROFILES, you will be given specific instructions on preparing for your surgery including guidelines for eating and drinking, vitamin and medication intake, smoking, and after care.

Please be sure that while preparing for your surgery, you arrange for someone to give you a ride home after your procedure as you will be able to go home the same day as your surgery.

All of our outpatient procedures including neck liposuction are performed in our brand new, state of the art, fully accredited, office-based surgical facility- the Profiles Surgery Center.

Profiles Facility

Local anesthesia is commonly used for neck liposuction and is commonly combined with sedation. Though you will be awake, the treatment area will be numbed and you will be relaxed and insensitive to pain.

The incision for neck liposuction is a very small one that is hidden within a natural skin crease of the neck. A narrow tube known as a cannula is inserted through the incision into the fat layer deep beneath the skin. The cannula disrupts the fat cells which are then suctioned out. The entire neck is treated to provide a uniform tightening of the entire region. The procedure takes anywhere from thirty minutes to an hour to complete.

After your neck liposuction, you will generally be surprised that there really is very little pain. Your neck may feel achy, particularly during the first day after your procedure. We will of course provide medication to control any discomfort that you may experience.

You will also be given specific instructions for gradually returning to your normal activities and time to discuss these with your surgeon prior to surgery. In general, you may need to avoid strenuous activities like jogging, bending, swimming, sexual activities or any other activities that increase your blood pressure for two to three weeks.
