Management of the Nasal Tip
“Nasal Tip Surgery”

Nasal tip management is considered by many to be the key component of successful rhinoplasty. In most cases, this has meant an emphasis on projection or deprojection, narrowing and refinement of the nasal tip structure.

In approaching the nasal tip, Drs. Litner and Solieman are able to seamlessly connect and integrate the underlying anatomic form with your individualized “ideal” nasal aesthetics. In other words, the variable surface features of your nose are correlated to the underlying internal structural components and compared to an aesthetic “ideal” for you. Combining this knowledge of the three dimensional anatomy with a clear aesthetic understanding then enables Drs. Solieman and Litner to develop a clear surgical plan.

There are many nasal tip techniques involving modification of the nasal tip cartilages by suturing cartilages, dividing cartilages, or a combination of both. However, with time certain applications of these techniques result in excessive narrowing or asymmetries of the nasal tip with or without attendant nasal dysfunction.

Drs. Solieman and Litner utilize more conservative suture techniques for restructuring the cartilage rather than more aggressive cartilage resection and scoring techniques used still by other surgeons that can result in long-term problems. Our techniques rely primarily on precise suture placement and tension control to create a natural-appearing and stable nasal tip contour.

In order to reliably address the nasal tip, Drs. Litner and Solieman understand the correlation between the external nasal contour and the shape of the underlying tip cartilages. Utilizing this knowledge, they are able to distill nasal tip surgery to only those techniques required in order to create a sound tip structure that will give you the results you want and, just as importantly, those results will last.
